Five Gov't Officials Killed in Helicopter Crash in E Sudan

According to state news agency SUNA, a helicopter crashed in al-Qadarif, a state in eastern Sudan. Social media users claim that at least 11 were killed in the plane crash.

At least five local government officials were killed in a plane crash, including the state's governor and the Sudanese minister of agriculture, according to media reports.he cause of the crash is currently unknown. 

There's no official statement from authorities. According to social media users, at least 11 were killed in the helicopter crash. Earlier State TV reported that an airplane, not a helicopter, had crashed.

Such crashes have happened in Sudan in the last several years. In September, an aircraft en route from Juba, South Sudan's capital, to the city of Yirol crashed, killing some 17 people. Only 3 people managed to survive and were sent to a hospital.

Man Starts To Trek From Lagos To Abuja Protesting Against Buhari

A Nigerian, Mohammed Isa has started to trek from Lagos to Abuja protesting against President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. 

Isa, on Thurday, began his trekking to protest the failure of the Buhari government to improve the standard of living of Nigerians. 

The 28-year-old man while showing his disgust for Buhari and APC was displaying a small coffin with the inscription of the ruling Party, All Progressives Congress (APC), while speaking to journalists at Otedola Bridge, Lagos. 

“I’m trekking now because they have failed Nigeria and Nigerians and I want Nigerians to know that even I, who believed so much in their government and put my health at risk by embarking on the trek is rejecting their government and that is why I’m carrying a coffin of the APC to deposit it at any mortuary within Abuja because the APC is dead already.” 

Isa, who hails from Borno state pointed that the APC government has failed to keep to its campaign promises. “They promised us heaven and earth but gave us hell,” Isa lamented. 

“They promised that fuel will be N45 Naira per litre but it’s now N145 Naira; they promised to create three million jobs in one year but they have not been able to create even 500,000 jobs in three years,” he added. 

Even though, Isa said he was displeased with the APC government, he, however, stated that he won’t vote for the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections. 

“I am very angry at everyone in the APC and I will not vote for anybody from APC or PDP because they are all the same” Isa said.

NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT PAID HUGE RANSOME TO FREE DAPCHI GIRLS – UNITED NATIONS REPORT

Despite the many denials of the Nigerian government that ransom was not paid for the release of the Dapchi girls, the United Nations has confirmed that a splinter Boko Haram group that kidnapped the Dapchi girls in February was paid a “large ransom”. 

The schoolgirls were kidnapped from their school on February 18. One of the girls, Leah Sharibu, has not been released for refusing to convert to Islam. On the March 21st, the Nigerian government announced that the girls and a boy were released after negotiations through a back channel. 

But in a report published on Tuesday by the United Nations said the government told lies about the release of Dapchi girls. Lai Mohammed said the terrorist group only demanded a temporary cessation of hostilities in order to free the girls.

The government spokesperson said government refused to take the military option so as not to jeopardize the lives of the girls. 

He said: “confrontation would not be the way out as it could endanger the lives of the girls, hence a non-violent approach was the preferred option.” “Within the period when the girls were being brought back, an operational pause was observed in certain areas to ensure free passage and also that lives were not lost,” he added. 

The United Nations has insisted the government paid a ransom. The UN stated that kidnapping for ransom is very prevalence which continues to encourage the activities of terror groups such as Boko Haram and its splinter faction Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), the group which kidnapped the Dapchi schoolgirls.

Buhari Writes National Assembly, Seeks An Extension Of His Medical Vacation

President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the National Assembly to seek an extension of his 10-day medical vacation in London. 

In a letter signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina and made available to newsmen today by the Personal Assistant to the president on Media Engagement, Bashir Ahmad, explain that the extension was necessary because the president still has to undergo some tests and receive the results for a series of tests that had been recommended by his doctors. 

The letter reads: “The President had planned to return to Abuja this evening (Sunday), but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning. “The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives. 

Mr President expresses his sincere gratitude to Nigerians for their concern, prayers and kind wishes.” This is not the first time Mr Buhari has sought an extension of his medical vacation in London.

It had twice extended his stay previously. The President is seeking a second term in office. His opponents have declared that he is not fit to govern the nation effectively on the account of health challenges but Mr Buhari’s handlers have punctured such saying the President is “just undergoing routine medical checkup”. 

Many have asked why Mr. Buhari’s ailments cannot be treated in Nigeria after making huge budgets for the clinic inside Aso Rock villa. Many medical experts have argued that treating the President abroad does not augur well for the image of the country.

 According to reports, the fight was as a result of the contents from each of the Facebook personalities post on their walls.

Fifteen Children Killed In Somalia Flooding

children's fund warns that heavy rains and flooding in Somalia are putting hundreds of thousands of children at high risk of disease and death.

The 230,000 people who have been displaced by floods since April are living in congested, unsanitary conditions that breed disease, according to UNICEF, and about half of that number are children.

"The rains spread diseases that are particularly deadly for malnourished children with exhausted, fragile immune systems," said UNICEF spokesman Christophe Boulierac. "While we have not seen a spike yet, the risk of further outbreaks is high and compounded by flooding."

Acute malnutrition rates among displaced children have exceeded the emergency threshold of 15 percent and have reached as high as 21 percent, UNICEF reports. The agency has treated more than 88,000 severely acutely malnourished children with special life-saving therapeutic feeding this year.

A woman stole £4,000 from her own grandmother

Kathryn Kent was caught out by her family after she had posted holiday snaps on Facebook  and they began to wonder how she had afforded to pay for it.

A court heard that Kent, 28, also tried to take her 87-year-old grandmother to a solicitor to change her will – meaning she would inherit all her money. Kent, of Cross Street in Burton, Staffordshire, admitted the theft but was spared jail and was given a 12-month suspended sentence at Derby Crown Court. Sentencing, Recorder Adrian Reynolds said: ‘You have stooped about as low as you can get stealing from your own grandmother who is suffering from dementia.

 ‘I hope you are thoroughly ashamed of yourself. There are probably a number of people that think I should send you to prison but I am not going to. ‘It is apparent to me that you have your problems and you are struggling. If I send you to prison that will not help you and I strongly suspect that your grandmother would not want that either. ‘It was a dreadful wrong that you carried out and you know that.’

Katrina Wilson, prosecuting, said Kent’s grandmother was living with a family member in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, when the theft took place. Miss Wilson said the pensioner had previously lived with Kent and, during that time, had let her have access to her bank account ‘on the express proviso’ that money would only be withdrawn ‘to pay for living essentials’.

‘The theft itself took place on September 19, 2016. It was discovered that £4,000 had been withdrawn from the victim’s bank account and this defendant had gone on holiday to Disneyland Paris,’ the prosecutor said. ‘She posted pictures on social media and they [Kent’s family] questioned how she was able to afford to do that.

‘It was also discovered that she had arranged to take her to a solicitor to write a new will but that has been overturned by a new will. ’The theft had caused Kent’s grandmother ‘a high degree of emotional distress at the abuse of trust’, Miss Wilson said. In a victim impact statement, she said: ‘I am very upset at what’s happened and simply want my money back.’ Kent pleaded guilty to one count of theft. Elisabeth Evans, defending, said her client had no previous convictions and had never been in trouble with the police before.

'Deadpool' Star Ryan Reynolds 'Heartbroken' Over Stuntwoman's Death

"Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds said on Monday that actors and crew were "heartbroken, shocked and devastated" at the death of a driver in a motorcycle stunt in Vancouver that went wrong.

"Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming ‘Deadpool',” Reynolds, a native of Vancouver, said in a message on his social media platforms.

Vancouver police confirmed the death on Monday of the stuntwoman on the set of 20th Century Fox's superhero movie “Deadpool 2” but gave no further details and did not release her name.

Local media said the woman appeared to lose control of the motorbike, which drove off the set and through the window of a building across the street.

The film is a sequel to the 2016 R-rated comedy “Deadpool,” starring Reynolds as the foul-mouthed Marvel superhero Deadpool.

Movie studio 20th Century Fox, a unit of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc., did not say whether production had been halted. Spokesman Dan Berger said the studio was "deeply saddened by the accident."

Reynolds said the cast and crew were "heartbroken, shocked and devastated... but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them — along with each and every person she touched in this world.”

The "Deadpool 2" death came one month after a stuntman died on the Atlanta, Georgia set of AMC horror TV series "The Walking Dead." John Bernecker, 33, died after hitting his head during a stunt where he fell from a height of 20 feet to a concrete floor.

Separately, Tom Cruise, known for doing most of his own stunts, appeared to have been injured on the London set of his upcoming spy action movie "Mission: Impossible 6."

Video emerged on Monday on celebrity news website TMZ showing Cruise, 55, trying to jump onto the roof of a high-rise building and landing hard against its wall. Moments later Cruise, who was attached to a harness, limped off the set

Representatives for Cruise and movie studio Paramount Pictures did not respond to queries about the incident or the nature of the actor's injury.

Angelina Jolie's Bells palsy diagnosis sparks questions about condition

Angelina Jolie is opening up about new health struggles, among other personal matters, in an interview in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

The actress revealed that she was diagnosed last year with Bell's palsy, a form of temporary facial paralysis caused by damage or trauma to the facial nerves. The condition caused one side of her face to droop, she 

Jolie told Vanity Fair that addition to Bell's palsy, she's also been diagnosed with hypertension.

"Sometimes women in families put themselves last," she told the magazine, "until it manifests itself in their own health."

Jolie is no stranger to openly discussing her health. In 2013, she chronicled her decision to have a preventive double mastectomy in an op-ed for the New York Times after she learned she had a BRCA1 gene mutation, which raised her risk for breast cancer. Two years later, she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as a preventive measure against ovarian cancer.

In the latest interview, Jolie said she was treated with acupuncture and has made a full recovery from Bell's palsy.

What is Bell's palsy?

According to the National Institutes of Health, about 40,000 Americans suffer from the condition each year.

The most visibly affected muscles are those controlling blinking of one eye and one side of the smile.

The exact cause of Bell's palsy is unknown, but doctors have a theory.

"Once other potential causes of facial paralysis are excluded, including tumor, Lyme disease, and shingles, the specific cause of Bell palsy is usually not identified," said David Simpson, M.D., director of the Neuromuscular Division in the Department of Neurology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. "The major prevailing theory concerning the cause of Bell palsy is that it is an immune reaction of the facial nerve in response to a viral infection."

The condition comes on suddenly, often without warning.

Simpson says treatment can include measures to protect the exposed cornea of the eye if blinking is impaired, including use of artificial tears or lubricating ointment and wearing a patch at night. Physical therapy can also help.

"Fortunately most patients make an excellent recovery," he said.

In rare cases, the symptoms may never completely disappear, and occasionally the disorder may recur, either on the same or the opposite side of the face.

"For the minority of patients that have incomplete recovery of facial strength or have other residual deficits including facial spasm, treatments may include botulinum toxin injections and various surgical procedures to restore facial symmetry," Simpson said.

John Heard, an actor who played pained characters in dramas but was probably best known for his role as the father who mistakenly left his youngest son behind on a family trip to Paris in the comedy “Home Alone,” died on Friday in Palo Alto, Calif. He was 71.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office said the cause was under investigation.

Mr. Heard recently had surgery for back pain at Stanford University Medical Center and was recovering at a nearby hotel, where a housekeeper found his body, his former wife, Sharon Heard, said in an interview on Saturday.

Mr. Heard started his career playing serious roles in the theater and was praised for his wrenching performance as a disabled and emotionally tortured Vietnam veteran in the 1981 film “Cutter’s Way,” which also starred Jeff Bridges.

Mr. Heard gained recognition mainly for lighter roles in films of the 1980s and ’90s like “Home Alone,” in which he played Macaulay Culkin’s father, and before that “Big,” with Tom Hanks.

John Matthew Heard Jr. was born on March 7, 1946, in Washington and briefly pursued a master’s degree in theater at the Catholic University of America in that city before leaving to build a professional acting career. His early years were spent in Off Broadway productions.

He made his film debut in 1977 in “Between the Lines,” about a socially conscious alternative newspaper in Boston about to be taken over by a big company. He led a cast that featured Jeff Goldblum, Lindsay Crouse and Marilu Henner.

Interviewed by The New York Times afterward — he was performing onstage at the time as an anxious husband in a production of August Strindberg’s “Creditors” — Mr. Heard struck a note of searching self-deprecation.

“I think this interview is a little premature,” he said, adding, “I don’t know, maybe after this is over, I’ll go back to Washington and be a plumber’s helper again.”

Instead, he went on to star in art house films like “Cutter’s Way” and later in commercial hits like “Big” (1988), in which he played an executive whomocks the little boy in a man’s body (Mr. Hanks), only to watch him climb the corporate ladder and win over his girlfriend.

In “Home Alone,” a 1990 John Hughes movie that The Times said might be the “first Christmas black comedy for children,” Mr. Heard’s character, Peter McCallister, panics as he realizes that he has forgotten his son Kevin in the rush to get to the airport for a family trip to France. Kevin awakes to an empty house, announces, “I made my family disappear!” and goes on to fend off two bumbling burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.

Mr. Heard also appeared in the sequel “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” (1992).

The actress who played the girlfriend in “Big,” Elizabeth Perkins, described Mr. Heard on Twitter as “the perfect foil, perfectly sly & a perfect gentleman.”

He had film roles in “Beaches” (1988), “Gladiator” (1992) and “The Pelican Brief” (1993) and made television appearances on shows like “Miami Vice,” “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “The Sopranos.” His guest performance as a corrupt police detective in “The Sopranos” was nominated in 1999 for an Emmy Award.

Ms. Heard, who was married to Mr. Heard from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s, said he had been highly selective in the roles he took. “He’d never compromise,” she said. “He’d get scripts every day, but he didn’t care about money. He didn’t care about the Hollywood scene at all.”

She said that “Cutter’s Way” had been “his pride and joy” and that he had resented being identified with the suburban father from the “Home Alone” movies.

She and Mr. Heard had two children, Annika and Max. Max died in 2016. He is survived by his daughter as well as a sister, Cordis Heard, and a son, John M. Heard III, from a previous relationship with the actress Melissa Leo.

Beginning in the 1990s, Mr. Heard made headlines over a protracted custody battle with Ms. Leo over their son. He also had two brief marriages, to Margot Kidder and to Lana Pritchard.

“John and Max were both creative, tormented, beautiful geniuses,” Ms. Heard said. “These people felt things differently, and they made the world magical.”

AP: What compelled you to name your album “Wins and Losses”?

Mill: Everybody saying that I’m losing and I lost. I lost my case. I lost my friends to the streets. Those things really meant something to me. I started off in the basement on a karaoke machine. Now I’m in million-dollar studios, making a lot of money being able to feed my family and take them out a crazy environment, still being able to wake up on my own time and do things how I want to do it. That’s my definition of winning. I determine my definition of losing on this album.

AP: Your single “Young Black America” has a politically-charged tone. What do you want people to take away from it?

Mill: It’s an eye-opener for the young people for my culture. It’s to help them open their eyes and see what they are really dealing with in real reality. A lot of rap isn’t based off reality most of the time. Sometimes it’s ignorant. ... I just wanted to give young people in our culture an understanding of what’s going on. In one video, we got young kids with guns with KKK masks on, basically saying we killing our own.

AP: What run-ins have you experienced with the law that youngsters can relate to?

Mill: I was 18 and got beat up by a cop and almost killed by cops. I was just a statistic coming up. The cops are in a dangerous neighborhood thinking everybody else in the neighborhood is dangerous or everybody in the hood is killers. They caught me and treated me like I was a killer. I don’t think that’s really right. The cop gave me a 100 charges with trying to kill a cop. I don’t want to kill a cop. They basically put me on probation for the rest of my life from that point on when I was 18. I’m 30 now and still on probation. I’ve been to jail three times from that one stint of probation. Any mistake you make, you’ll be put in prison. Your freedom can be took.

AP: Your relationship with Minaj and beef with Drake really put a spotlight on you. How did you take to the criticism?

Mill: I’ll look at the internet and see comments like, ‘Meek got Nicki money.’ You can’t know nothing about Meek Mill if you saying something like that. They be like ‘Meek Mill can’t rap.’... ‘Somebody wrote Meek Mill raps’. ... I came up on YouTube rapping since I was 14 years old. That’s my importance to the streets. They seen me come up. My story is not a facade.

AP: Did you have anything to do with Safaree being jumped?

Mill: I don’t know nothing about him getting jumped on. I pulled up and actually seen him getting into an altercation. You can look at my face and see that I was surprised. Me and my friends had a party at that spot that night, so that’s somewhere we were supposed to be going. I don’t communicate with him. I don’t know him. I don’t even want to base those guys in this interview. That’s not even on my level. Street fights take place all the time. I ain’t touch nobody. Didn’t put no hand on nobody. I’m on strict probation. I’m just trying to handle my business and feed my family. I don’t think those dudes are worthy of being talked about.

AP: Does your short film, “Wins & Losses: The Movie” make you want to get more involved in film?

Mill: I want to do something that expresses the things we go through. The things we feel. I have a lot of older white friends who don’t understand our culture. They might see ignorant or wild things and don’t understand why it’s going on. But I might have to break it down like, ‘Yo, this guy is on drugs for 15 years.’ I believe I can express things through film.

Usher paid a stylist $1.1million and covered her medical bills after the pop star infected her with herpes, explosive court documents claim

Usher reportedly paid a former lover $1.1 million to settle a lawsuit after claiming she contracted herpes from the singer.

Court documents, first published by Radar Online, show that the 38-year-old 'U Got It Bad' singer, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, was diagnosed with the incurable condition between 2009-2010, 

An affidavit from the complainant states that the singer nonetheless engaged in unprotected intercourse without first disclosing the affliction.  According to California state law, where Usher resides, it is illegal to knowingly or recklessly transmit an sexually transmitted disease (STD). 

The performer later denied being a carrier of the non-lethal condition, despite 'greenish discharge' from his penis, court documents say. 'Believing Raymond’s statements that (the discharge) had been nothing and cleared up, (she) continued her relationship,' the legal docs stated. The plaintiff was later diagnosed with herpes, complete with vaginal sores, fevers and chills, she alleged in papers.

Usher has yet to make a public statement on the matter.

Between 2011 and 2012, the Grammy award wining artist paid for medical bills on behalf of the plaintiff totaling $2,754.40, around the same time the 'Confessions' singer had his doctor inform the woman that he was indeed a carrier of the disease, court documents show. 

Usher was first allegedly 'exposed to herpes' virus in 2009 or 2010, the legal documents show,  around the time when finalized his divorce to Tameka Foster after she accused him of cheating.

Foster is not believed to have contracted the virus.  

In a deceleration, the woman said she 'feels that her health and body have been ruined 'and she 'has suffered severe emotional distress and has been extremely depressed … knowing there is no cure.'

The singer has been married to his current wife Grace Miguel since 2015. There is no suggestion she has contracted the virus.

Experts say that one out of every six people between the ages of 14 to 49 carry the herpes virus, which can be transmitted through oral, anal or vaginal intercourse. 

The virus can also be transmitted even when an individual does not have any visible signs.

R. Kelly has been accused of "brainwashing" at least two aspiring female singers into sexual servitude in his homes in Chicago and Atlanta, Buzzfeed News reports. The investigation spoke to the families of both women, who said that Kelly preyed upon the women using physical and verbal abuse. 

The Buzzfeed report alleged that Kelly keeps at least six women, all of legal age, on a pair of his properties. There, he dictates what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, when they sleep and how they engage in sexual encounters, which he reportedly records. The women must adhere to a certain set of "rules" or face punishment. Kelly allegedly issues the women new cell phones and any communication with their parents is considered a breach of the rules. In many cases, the women have cut off all communication with their families, the report says.

One woman, who was once in Kelly's entourage confirmed the report. "You have to ask for food. You have to ask to go use the bathroom … [Kelly] is a master at mind control. ... He is a puppet master," she said of the singer. In total, three women who were "former members of Kelly's inner circle" contributed to the report.

"R. Kelly is the sweetest person you will ever want to meet," said Asanta McGhee, one of Kelly's former employees. "But Robert is the devil." (Kelly's birth name is Robert Kelly.) 

Kelly has not responded to the allegations. His Chicago lawyer Linda Mensch responded to Buzzfeed in an email, writing, "We can only wonder why folks would persist in defaming a great artist who loves his fans, works 24/7, and takes care of all of the people in his life. He works hard to become the best person and artist he can be. It is interesting that stories and tales debunked many years ago turn up when his goal is to stop the violence; put down the guns; and embrace peace and love. I suppose that is the price of fame. Like all of us, Mr. Kelly deserves a personal life."

Kelly has a history of alleged sexual misconduct. In 2003, he was arrested for 12 counts of possession of child pornography after police searched his home in Florida. At the time, the singer had already been in four lawsuits in which he was accused of having sex with underage girls. When the pornography case was tried in 2008, Kelly was acquitted on all charges. 

The new report details how Kelly preys upon aspiring singers by offering to help them with their careers. What begins as a professional relationship turns sexual over the course of clandestine phone calls and text messages, the report says. Over time, the women end up living in one of Kelly's homes. In one case, a woman dropped out of a Georgia college and took up residence with other entourage members in Kelly's suburban Atlanta house.

In the case of two of the families that spoke to Buzzfeed, the women themselves rebuffed multiple "welfare checks" by authorities. Because the young women are over the age of consent, the families say they are hamstrung in their attempts to reunite with their daughters.

“I have not talked to my daughter in more than a year,” one mother said. “We’ve had deaths in the family, birthdays, and I haven’t heard from her and she hasn’t been here for any of it. I didn’t even hear from her on Mother’s Day. All I want to do is bring her home.”

This was all the way back in 2012, when Leslie started playing Ygritte, the wildling girl Jon falls in love with in the show’s second season. So what has been the latest update about the relationship between Kit Harington and Rose Leslie? Are they still together?

Yes, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are still dating. In fact, just a few weeks ago, Harington confirmed in an interview with Esquire that he and Leslie are now living together. He mentioned this while talking about the fact that he and his former roommate are both moving on to new places.

“He’s going off with his girlfriend and I’m living with my girlfriend,” Harington said.

A lot of details about the relationship between Rose Leslie and Kit Harington are not known, as the two are relatively private. In fact, we didn’t even know for sure that they were dating until 2016; before that, it was just a rumor for four years. In that interview with Esquire, Harington would not answer questions about his relationship with Rose Leslie, explaining that this is because “it’s as much her relationship as it is mine and I can’t speak for both of us.” He did say, however, that they are “very, very happy.”

That interview was conducted in May. In early June, Harington appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, and by this point, his move was completed.

“I’ve moved in with my other best friend, Rose,” Harington said on the show. “So, I’m very, very happy and it’s going well.”

Harington went on to explain that Rose Leslie moved into his place, but he told her to feel free to change things to make it her own.

“She has all sorts of ideas for the house,” Harington said. “…I said to her, because she moved into my house, I said, ‘Darling, this is important that it’s our space, that it feels like our space and that you haven’t just moved into mine. Move anything you want around — change anything, chuck anything out….I went to the shop, and I came back, and I said, ‘So what did you decide?’ She looked up and she said, ‘We’re moving the kitchen downstairs.'”

Nicole Kidman, who was also a guest on that Late Late Show episode, flat out asked Harington if he’s going to propose to Rose Leslie. Harington did not say yes or no, saying, “Wow! …I’ve been put on the spot by Nicole Kidman.” He also said that he’s taking his relationship with Leslie step by step.

In a 2016 interview with Vogue, Harington recalled that his favorite memory of Game of Thrones was shooting the second season and falling in love with Rose Leslie.

“The three weeks in Iceland when we were shooting the second season,” Harington said. “Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love. If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it’s becomes very easy to fall in love…”

Between season five and season six of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington had to lie to the world and claim that he was not going to come back to the show; it was meant to be a surprise that Jon Snow was brought back to life after being murdered by members of the Night’s Watch. While Harington was generally good about keeping the secret, he did tell Rose Leslie.

When asked in an interview with Entertainment Weekly how long Rose Leslie knew he was going to come back to life, he said, “I told her from early on. In fact, Dan [Weiss, co-showrunner] said to David [Benioff, co-showrunner], ‘He’s going to tell Rose, isn’t he?’ She was allowed to know.”

Leslie successfully kept the secret for a full year.

“Of course you don’t want to lie to anybody’s face but I felt that it wasn’t my place to let the cat out of the bag,” Leslie told the Belfast Telegraph. “…I’d promised Kit I wouldn’t say anything. It’s just keeping your word, isn’t it?” And of course there was an element of professional pride. “You’re a little bit like: ‘Well, we pretend for a living, so…'”

It was at the 2016 Olivier Awards that Rose Leslie and Kit Harington first made an appearance as a couple.

Beyonce Releases First Photo of Her Twins

One month after the internet exploded over rumors that Beyoncé had given birth to twins, she finally made it official in the same way she broke the news of her pregnancy: on her own terms, with an Instagram post early on Friday morning.

The pregnancy photo shoot was done by the artist and photographer Awol Erizku, who called that project “a collaboration,” adding, “Beyoncé didn’t say, ‘Hey, this is what I want; do this.’”s Beyoncé, 35, holding her two babies — a boy and a girl — in front of an elaborate flower arrangement by the sea, and is captioned, “Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today.” It had received more than 6.6 million likes on Instagram by 10 a.m. on Friday.

Reports of the twins’ birth started circulating in June from media outlets, including People and Entertainment Tonight, which cited anonymous sources. Baby fever ensued on social media. Beyoncé’s husband, the rapper Jay-Z, referred to their birth on his new album, “4:44,” which he released on June 30. Still, Beyoncé stayed silent.

In the end, she has done something uncommon in a world of 24-hour celebrity news. She has managed to keep tight control over the release of information about her pregnancy and delivery, revealing it on her own timeline and on her own terms. It’s in keeping with how this pop star has conducted all of her business over the last few years.
